Best Dance-albums

When I am the DJ for the night, I bring some records (but that probably would not surprise you). Here are some records you might never heard of, but are absolutely worth a try.

Layo & Bushwacka - Low life

Sometimes you listen to a record (at least I do) and you fall in love with it. And even more rare, it is dance-music.
But this one is absolutely great. Great songs and all very different.
Please, let them make another record.

Jazzanova - Remixes 1997 - 2000

Whenever you buy or listen to a remix, 9 out of 10 times you like the original more. If you are listening to an album including only remixes, you often ask yourself why it was made anyway.
This one is different: I didn't know any of the original songs, and that's okay with me.

Lemongrass - Lumiere Obscure

Roland Voss alias Lemongrass (nice name for this German artist) takes you one a nice trip (?!) with breakbeats, three lovely voices and a little surprise in every song.
Buy this one with a soft, big couch.

Mr. Scruff - Keep it unreal

Ninja tune is a famous label with artists like Amon tobin and Kid Koala, but I think Mr. Scruff (Andrew Carthy) should be on top of their bill.
In the beginning of the album a lady asks Mr. Scruff if he is ready. Yes, he sure is.

Longplayers - Bad thoughts on a sunny day

This band won "de grote prijs van Nederland" the first year they started. Now, two years later here's there debut-album. Mostly breakbeat and drum n bass, but really cool and promising for the future of dutch breakbeat-music.

Stanton warriors -

Nu-skool breakbeat at his best. With remixes from Basement Jaxx and own recordings like Da Virus. This is not just a remix-album, this is the one to loose some weight in about one our.
