| Ecuador 2001; What has been left of it after Karin and Rob went there.
Karin and I went one month to Ecuador for the holidays this year (2001). This was really incredible. Monday, the second of July, we went by plane to Guiyaquil. After we arrived in Guiyaquil, we took the bus to Quito. About 8 hours later we arrived in Quito and visited Karin's brother Koen. From here we started our journey through Ecuador. |

The landscape was beautiful during the trip to Quito. The combination of the mountains and the clouds which were very near was impressive.
| | We stayed one night in Guayaquil. The next morning we took the most worst taxi we've ever taken. No windows anymore, a lot of damage and cables hanging everywhere they did not belong. But the car drove us (5 persons including a lot of lugage) all the way to the bus terminal (really amazing!).

| After two days of relaxing, we went to the middle of the world, Mitad del Mundo. We stood on both sides of the equator at the samen time (?), but it was actually quiet boring. |
